Is HMNY A Winning TIcket For Movie-Goers?
There has been much debate over the Moviepass business model and the resulting boom or bust to Helios and Matheson Analytics (HMNY) share price. A few months ago I read a Yahoo! article about Moviepass and after a brief discussion with my wife, we signed up.
HMNY Sign-up Process A Breeze
It took just a moment to install the Moviepass app on my smart phone. It should be noted that until you enter your billing information, you are not able to see if theaters near you accept Moviepass. Once able to peruse the list of theaters near me, I was more than impressed. There were several multiplexes within a 10-mile radius where I could use my Moviepass. There were also college theaters and smaller artsy-type venues available in my area which was definitely an added bonus. It is safe to say that as long as you're not living in the middle of nowhere Moviepass should give you some options.
The sign-up was as simple as it should be and after entering my billing information, I was informed that a Moviepass card would be sent to me within a couple of weeks.
It turned out that the article that had alerted me to Moviepass had also helped to create a massive volume spike from 13.2K to 1.1M! The increased popularity of the service along with the fetching low price of $10 a month, stretched the company's ability to mail out Moviepass cards to new subscribers. Instead of a couple of weeks, we waited nearly two months for the cards to arrive.
